Naroa Fort is located on the Island of Divar. It was abandoned in 1834 and is now in ruins. The ruins of the fort are found on the northern part of the island, called Naroa. The ancient Dipavati is one confederacy in length and a quarter of a league in breadth. It was the place of a Tirtha and Hindu temple, which caught the attention thousands of Hindu pilgrims annually who came here to bathe and veneration. The Island became home to the residence for many of the dignified families of Goa. There are three parochial churches, besides this it has chapel containing two similes of Christ which are worshiped by the catholics of the place.
